About benshivar.com

When I started this website, it was a spreadsheet of all the inventions made by humankind. I used raw code to build it until I discovered WordPress. WordPress allowed me to customize my site quickly and efficiently without spending five hours typing two sentences using basic code. Using WordPress, I transformed this site and made it more attractive. Also, using this website-making tool, I started making weekly posts about various topics.

These topics ranged from biking to public transportation and from flags to an Early History of Russia. I wrote about obscure countries and their governments. I wrote great essays about empires and wars. I wrote about great civilizations and the numerous Napoleonic Wars. I wrote about America and its many parks. I wrote about how these parks transformed our cities from slums into great metropolitan centers. I reviewed many great books that I had read in the past. I wrote about city planning and how it can make our cities livable, not a paradise for cars. I wrote about history itself and topics in history. But most of all, I want to convey an overview of all the knowledge ever collected by humans over millennia. This is what my site is truly about.

Stuff I do Now*

I live in the beautiful city of Atlanta, GA, on a tiny street near Grant Park.

I love to backpack and volunteer in the Cohutta and Smoky Mountains. I also love to bike around my city to understand it and the world around me better.

I am passionate about advocating for public transit and better bike lanes and about reading as many history books as I can in the shortest amount of time.

I love my city and like visiting local corner shops and hidden parks while biking.

When I’m not doing this kind of stuff, I like to travel to every museum and State Park in Georgia, as well as every public park and festival in my native Atlanta.
